Welcome to my wildlife photography website!

I am a retired family practice physician in Ohio, USA. I have taken up wildlife photography and have had the privilege of traveling to South Africa and Brazil to experience the beautiful and amazing wildlife in both of those countries. Here I share some of my photos with you.
In each gallery page or within the caption/description of each photo, if the gallery contains more than one animal species, I have included the International Union for Conservation of Natureβs (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species category, a classification system based on the risk of extinction. It includes nine categories: Not Evaluated, Data Deficient, Least Concern, Near Threatened, Vulnerable, Endangered, Critically Endangered, Extinct in the Wild and Extinct. The date that particular species was last assessed (in parentheses) and whether its population is decreasing, stable, or increasing are also included.

The fact is that no species has ever had such wholesale control over everything on earth, living or dead, as we now have. That lays upon us, whether we like it or not, an awesome responsibility. In our hands now lies not only our own future, but that of all other living creatures with whom we share the earth.

Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
